Airline Companies Are Evaluated on Performance and Service – Who Came Out On Top?

Congratulations are in order on this Friday the 13th, honoring Qatar Airlines as ‘Best Airline’ in 2012, this according to Skytrax World Airline Awards.

Skytrax’ process in determining the top airlines consist of surveys taken over a period of 10 months, involving some 18 million passengers.  These passengers survey over 200 opinion polls relating to an airline company’s performance and service.

A number of winners emerged including Star Alliance who received the ‘World’s Best Airline Alliance.’

Budget friendly airlines were also honored with AirAsia taking home the top spot as Virgin America and Jetstar took the #2 and #3 spots respectively.

Other winners included:

  • Virgin Australia – Best Airline
  • Virgin Australia – Best Staff Service
  • Air Canada – Best International Airline

Bad news for Qantas as the airline company dramatically fell in its popularity and service, neglecting to place within the top 10 in any respective category.

These awards are vital in current and future passengers establishing and recognizing the quality of service each airline company may provide.
