In an effort to promote tourism within its own country, Australian officials have launched the “Make Some Our Time” drive, which will promote tourism within New South Wales (NSW.)
Barry O’Farrell, Sate Premier, was on hand this morning at Westfield Bondi Junction, to make public what is being hailed as the ‘biggest ever’ marketing strategy to steer tourism in other provinces outside of the main city of Sydney.
The new strategy is directed toward the citizens of Sydney and Aussies alike, to experience wonderful mini-vacations at the beaches, snow filled activities, and encounter the magnificent indigenous wildlife, all within their own backyard of the NSW.
The campaign which begins today and runs through August 12, 2012, will feature voucher giveaways to local lodging establishments totaling a whopping $1 million.
George Souris, Minister for Tourism and Major Events, said this is a perfect time for Aussies to experience the wonders of the NSW.
“Time-poor Sydneysiders are the biggest takers of short breaks – this innovative promotion will help them take advantage of the millions of destinations NSW has for the perfect break… We all know we are meant to recharge our batteries every now and again, and we always remember how good we felt when we did. This campaign makes it easy for people to do this.”
If you’d like to take advantage of this promotion, Aussies should head over to any of the participating eight Westfield centers in NSW.
These stores include: Penrith, Miranda, Eastgardens, Chatswood, Sydney, Parramatta, Burwood and Westfields in Bondi Junction.
Customers who spend at least $30 in any of the participating outlets will be presented with a ‘scratcher’ that could be worth hundreds of dollars off over 650 NSW lodging providers such as: Country NSW, Blue Mountains, Snowy Mountains, Outback NSW, Hunter, South and North Coasts and Lord Howe Island.
