Auckland hopes to dazzle the world’s media and some of the most important travel trade representatives when they arrive here for the TRENZ 2013; New Zealand’s most important annual trade event for the travel & tourism industry. To be conducted between 21 – 24 April 2013, at The Cloud and the newly revamped Shed 10 of the famous Auckland waterfront, this is the city’s chance to showcase to the world some of the best experiences that the city’s urban life has to offer. Incidentally this is the first time that the TRENZ is being held in the central city, allowing nearly 1000 guests an opportunity to enjoy the waterfront venues and other attractions of the city including some of the fine dining experiences that the city has to offer.
As per Kevin Bowler, the chief executive of tourism New Zealand, this is also a great chance for Auckland to showcase its reputation as the most socio-culturally diverse city in New Zealand. The diversity of the city and the many attractions of the urban city-life will be some of the main attractions that will be put up by the city in front of the world’s media and travel representatives.
The Rugby World Cup 2011 was an important even for the city and it was then the city realized that the Auckland waterfront is an extremely popular destination throughout the day. TRENZ was last held in Auckland back in 2010 and since then numerous new tourist attractions and activities have been setup in the city. As per city mayor Len Brown the city looks to attract as many international and domestic tourism representatives as possible during the four day international event to showcase all of them.
With an emerging tourism industry Auckland stands to benefit from a share of a growing global tourism market. Currently it earns revenues of $3 Billion. With TRENZ 2013 the city will attempt to impress to the world the excellent facilities they have in the city along with the breathtaking sights of New Zealand that starts just at the doorstep of the city.
