The Gili Lankanfushi, Maldives is a pristine coral island in the middle of a lagoon, with private accommodations dotting all around the place, connected by jetty crafted in the most eco-friendly manner using only natural materials. The resort is designed for the upmarket traveller and is one of the finest examples from the eco-luxury sector.
Lankanfushi Island, where this boutique resort is almost hidden away from prying eyes, lies in a lagoon on the North Malé Atoll. All the 45 over-water villas are examples of how life can sustain on the waters edge with little to no impact on the immediate environment. All the villas on this luxury resort boast a roof-top terrace, an open air bathroom, private water garden and over water sundecks. There is also a selection of seven Crusoe residences for the traveller looking for a bit more privacy and the private Reserve which is accessible only via a personal boat for the ultimate private experience.
The General Manager of Gili Lankanfushi, Maldives, Mr. Iain McCormack did not attempt to hide his pleasure when he mentioned that they are thrilled to be selected as the World’s leading luxury resort. He also mentioned that every bit of that credit goes out to the untiring services of the dedicated staff members who have been successful in delivering a truly out-of-this world experience to their guests. He thanked them for their hard work and efforts and specially commended them during the difficult times when the resort was going through the transition period of ownership.
Incidentally Gili Lankanfushi, Maldives is the fifth property of Hotel Properties Limited in Maldives. The Four Seasons Resort at Kuda Huraa and Landaa Giraavaru; Rihiveli Beach Resort and the Holiday Inn Resort Kandooma make up the other four. Gili Lankanfushi, Maldives also happens to be the 12th hotel managed by HPL Hotels & Resorts.
