Leading Asian hospitality brand Dusit International has made a strong start to 2013, recording 12.8% growth in revenue for the year so far. At the Thailand Travel Mart Plus 2013 (TTM+ 2013), the Asian hospitality giant is going to showcase its Thailand properties. The event is the biggest B2B tourism exhibition in Thailand. According to Ms Dorinda Chua, Assistant Vice President of Global Sales, there has been a tremendous response from buyers, attending the event, looking to meet with Dusit International representatives. She mentioned that representatives from all of Dusit’s Thailand based properties will be there at the event in order to speak to buyers at stands D12, D13, D34 and D35.
Dusit International representatives will be there to speak with prospective clients, sharing with them the future plans of the group, which will invariably focus on the fact that the group has plans to expand its hotels and resorts to twice the current number over the next two years. Some of the key announcements made this year include projects in Nairobi, Kenya; Khao Yai, Thailand; Doha, Qatar and in China. The group is further expected to make announcements about its expansion plans in Singapore and Dubai.
A key tie-up between Dusit International and a China based partner, which was announced earlier this year, is going to help this expansion plan. Under this arrangement a total of ten hotels are to be developed over a period of five years. It is expected that by 2020, the total number of Dusit International branded hotel rooms in China will be equal to 5000.
Ms Chua added that irrespective of the fact that Dusit International is expanding its horizon, Thailand will continue to remain one of their prime areas of focus, as it has been for many years now.
