Seven’s Sunrise To Broadcast Live From Machu Pichu

Broadcasting live from Machu Pichu, Seven’s sunrise becomes the first ever Australian breakfast television show to achieve the feat of broadcasting live from this iconic site. The broadcast, live from the UNESCO World Heritage site, is a part of a week long special destination feature on Peru. The live broadcasts are made possible thanks to the generous co-operation received from Australia’s leading luxury tour and cruise operator APT. Broadcast is to begin on Monday 24th June, 2013.

APT is the sole tour operator sponsoring this outdoor shoot and has worked closely with Australia’s most popular breakfast television show to arrange this wonderful week long programming to be hosted by Edwina Bartholomew, a correspondent from Sunrise Sydney. All flights have been sponsored by LAN Airlines.

APT’s destination experts have contributed with their in depth knowledge about Peru and the Amazon to create a rich content for the show. Viewers watching the program will be able to see highlights of APT’s South American programming, including a live broadcast from Cusco – the Incan capital, where preparations for Winter Solstice (Inti Raymi) is afoot; glimpses from the most sacred of all Peruvian festivals – the Sacred Valley and of course the main attraction, Machu Pichu.

Before starting broadcast of the main show, the Seven Sunrise crew will be visiting the Amazon, in an attempt to capture an APT river cruise aboard the Delfin II. They would be filming the cruise guests and shooting the natural sights on board the cruise.

Speaking on the co-operation APT’s General Manager Marketing Debra Fox mentioned, that Peru is truly one of the most enchanting destinations in the world. Its secrets are worth sharing. She also mentioned that taking the Sunrise team to a journey through some of the most iconic sites in human history, experiencing first hand the generous and warm hospitality of the Peruvian people and sharing it with the audience is an absolute privilege for APT. A cruise on the Amazon River, filming the guests, is certainly one of the best ways to capture how the guests are feeling as they travel through the heart of the country. She also sounded hopeful that the experiences shared by Edwina will inspire many other Australians to experience this fascinating land for themselves and contact them.

To further strengthen their co-operation APT will be sponsoring a competition which will run concurrently with the week long Peruvian special broadcasts. One lucky viewer will have the chance to win a 20 day Best of South America trip for two people worth $28,000. All expenses including flight will be paid for. To enter into the draw viewers will have to register on the Sunrise website and answer a question in 25 words or less. Registrations open on 24th.
