The LadyElliotIsland on the southern tip of the Great Barrier Reef is known for its spectacular scenery, crystal clear water with great visibility and an island landscape to die for. The island is going to become the melting pot of photographic ideas, come this July. For the average photography enthusiasts it is the ultimate coming together of all things that he can ever hope for, great location, experienced photography guide and a workshop that inspires to learn & develop. Acclaimed photographer Darren Jew is going to host the Foto Frenzy Workshop from July 19-23 to be held on the island.
Priced at $829 on a double/triple sharing basis, the inclusions are an accommodation for four nights in an Eco Cabin, entry to the main photography workshop, a scenic return flight, full buffet breakfast & dinner for all days, tour on a glass bottomed boat, snorkeling, island activities and other tours. The price also includes environmental management charge. Participants have the option to extend their stay for one more night for free. Guests are also given the option for upgrades and if they want to indulge in a few dives, arrangements for that can also be made.
The workshop will be hosted by, apart from Darren Jew, a number of other landscape and underwater photographers, focusing on both land and underwater photography. The workshop will include photo walks, processing & printing, photo exhibitions, equipment demonstrations and also a photo competition wherein participants have a chance to win prizes.
Robbie Cornelius, acting general manager of TourismFraserCoast, mentioned it is a privilege to have some one like Darren Jew to come and host his workshop on the island. Darren is a multi-award winning Australian photographer who has captured some of the most breathtaking landscape scenes from such diverse places as Antarctica to Zambia over a career spanning more than 30 years. It will be a once in a while chance for landscape and underwater photography enthusiasts to learn the tricks from him.
LadyElliotIsland is a wonderful location for snorkeling and diving, to experience the fascinating world of brightly colored marine life. One can simply wade the water off the beach and snorkel. Alternatively the island is a perfect place to simply relax and enjoy some time away from the maddening city life.
