This is a challenge that most busy Australians would be hard-pressed to stomach yet most would be intrigued just as well to try out at least once. Boutique Africa travel specialist Encompass Africa have come with this new idea, challenging ordinary Australians from every walk of life to submit a short 60-second video of a ‘Safari’ that they find in their everyday life. The prize is a cool luxurious trip to South Africa worth $15,000 absolutely Free! The announcement was made on the Facebook page of the organisation this morning.

Managing Director of Encompass Africa, Jonathan Wilson mentioned that the challenge is aimed at every Australian, especially those who spend a considerable amount of time on their smartphones and other hand-held devices, dreaming of a safari holiday, while never quite getting the time to actually take one.

He continued to add, whether we love it or hate it Facebook and the likes and of course the Internet have completely altered the way we interact with other people. It has also transformed the way we look at preparing ourselves prior to a trip. Similarly hand-held smart devices are ubiquitous nowadays reaching the level of addiction. We all love to fiddle with them, documenting our everyday life and sharing it with our friends & family. So much so that research has proved it that some of us log into social media sites for up to 20 times a day!

The idea of developing this challenge came from the results of such researches and the simple thought of why not using this great amount of energy in a fun and creative way? Thus, the challenge was developed, to create something fun and entertaining and at the same time giving people a shot at winning a fantastic Free trip to Africa.

Participants are asked to shoot and submit a 60-second video from their everyday life. They can upload the same on Encompass Africa’s official Facebook page. The subject should be how they find a safari in their daily lives.

Speaking of safari’s and treading the off-beaten track, Danica Wilson, Jonathan’s better half and his business partner, knows exactly what it means to travel through the unknown paths in a distant continent; it’s how the two met! She mentioned that she was born in Australia, however her husband Jonathan was born and brought up in South Africa. He worked for many years as a travel guide, taking guests from all over the world to Southern and Eastern Africa on safaris.

The team at Encompass Africa constitutes a dedicated bunch of people. All of them are well versed with the destinations that they offer to their customers. All of them are gifted individuals knowing how to create an ideal experience for guests when they are on a safari. Travelling with a dedicated team like this, one is guaranteed of an experience of a life time soaking in the natural beauty of this magnificent continent.

The competition will run until the 29th of November, 2013 and the winner will get the coveted prize that will include return airfares from Sydney or Perth to Johannesburg on South Africa Airways plus a total of 12 nights free accommodation at More Quarters, Cape Town; Le Quartier Francais, the Cape Winelands; Tanda Tula Safari Camp, Timbavati and Lion Sands River Lodge, Sabi Sand Game Reserve.
