Rockpool Lodge Wins the Best Ski Chalet in Australia Award

The World Ski Awards, held at A-Rosa Kitzbühel in Austria last Saturday night crowned the Rockpool Lodge in Thredbo New South Wales with the prestigious ‘Best Ski Chalet in Australia award’. The Rockpool lodge is a five star property in Thredbo Alpine Resort, a premium ski village. The property has a private Jacuzzi, gourmet chef’s kitchen, sauna and a giant open stone fire place that also works as the central attraction of the lounge. The property also has a grand master bedroom suite with a private ensuite, a claw foot tub and a relaxation loft.

Considered the ‘sister awards’ of the World Travel Awards, the Oscars of the travel industry, the inaugural World Ski Awards celebrated the best in Ski tourism industry and Rockpool shared the stage with some of the best known names in the business such as The Ritz Carlton Bachelor Gulch in Colorado, The Vale in Niseko and The Carlton Hotel in St Moritz, all of whom won their respective categories.

Gregg Quinn, General Manager of Visit Snowy Mountain stated that they are very proud of this achievement. To be conferred the crown of the ‘Best Ski Chalet in Australia’ is an appreciation of the outstanding standards in guest service, facilities and quality of accommodation that they constantly strive to attain.

Sion Rapson, Managing Director of the World Ski Awards mentioned while speaking on the occasion that the inaugural event has been a phenomenal success with positive responses from one and all. The voting system was flooded with responses from hundreds of thousands of travel professionals and skiers across the globe, voting for their favorite hotels, chalets and resorts. He also reiterated that the winners of the inaugural event should be proud of their achievement as they have been voted the best in their class.
