This holiday season, Air New Zealand gives its passengers one more reason to rejoice. Passengers flying on Air New Zealand will now be able to check-in using their smartphones, tablets and online. The facility is extended to both international and domestic passengers.
Aimed at making the check-in process faster and a lot smoother than it is now, the Air NZ mobile app for iPhone and Android users will allow customers to –
- Check-in from anywhere up to 24 hours prior to departure
- Check-in using their smartphones up until 90 minutes prior to an international flight and 30 minutes prior to a domestic flight
Passengers of Air New Zealand can, in addition to the above advantages, also choose seats and print boarding passes when they check-in online.
Calum Laming, General Manager Customer Experience for Air New Zealand mentioned that the introduction of the new Air NZ smartphone app as well as the online check-in facility reiterates the commitment of the airline to offer a smooth and effortless flying experience to its passengers.
He also mentioned, “Both the Air NZ mobile app and online check-in offer customers a new level of convenience, saving them valuable time allowing them to check in remotely and to print their boarding pass from home. Customers can also use their smartphone as their boarding pass with the app recognized by Air New Zealand kiosks.”
The new mobile app will come with a host of features that will enable customers flying with Air New Zealand to get the latest updates, flight information plus details about the airports that they will be flying in and out of. Using the app customers can check their personal travel details as well as updates on weather, handy when one is on a whirlwind tour.
Julia Raue, Air New Zealand Chief Information Officer mentioned while speaking on the occasion that customers have always been fans of the Air NZ mobile app mPass and the new revamped version is certainly going to build on that experience with a completely redesigned package. She added that new features to the app will be continuously added to keep enhancing the experience.
She also mentioned, “We have thought long and hard as to what would improve our mobile app and make our customers’ travel more seamless regardless of where they are flying. I believe the new Air NZ mobile app will do just that offering them both what they want and need in an easy to navigate application.”
Additionally, Air New Zealand customers passing flying through Auckland International Airport will be able to enjoy a completely revamped check-in infrastructure with 55 new self-check kiosks and a total of 12 bag drops available for them.
