Watch out! Cathay Pacific has been deemed the world’s best airline! The prestigious title was given out during an awards presentation at the Farnborough International Airshow on Tuesday, July 15, 2014.
It was the first win, since 2009, for Cathay Pacific in the ‘world’s best airline’ category, a title previously held by Emirates from a year ago.
So who gets to decide what airline is the ‘best?’ Millions of travellers vote each year on a number of categories says CEO of Skytrax, Edward Plaisted, who shared: “Of all the sellers, Cathay were the best performers across all types of travel. Some airliners were very good in economy, others in luxury, but they were top or near the top in all categories.”
Prior to the awards ceremony, John Slosar, CEO of Cathay Pacific was optimistic asserting: “I believe that the Cathay Pacific team is the best and it is fantastic to see that our passengers see it the same way… I would certainly like to congratulate our cabin crew and everyone else in the Cathay Pacific team who make our award-winning service happen each and every day.”
In the global division, Qatar Airways and Singapore Airlines ranked 2nd and 3rd impressively.
