Peter Jackson stars in latest Air New Zealand Hobbit safety video


Air New Zealand has become famous for its funny and sometimes controversial safety videos.

In a bid to not break with tradition, Air New Zealand has just released its latest series of safety videos, this time with cameo appearances from award winning Lord of the Rings and Hobbit Director Peter Jackson, along with star of the Lord of the Rings series, Elijah Wood.

The latest four minute video clip, titled “The Most Epic Safety Video Ever Made”, features Hobbit creates and people, asking passengers to buckle up and use oxygen masks when required. The funny video is set in Middle-earth and features some amazing scenery from New Zealand.

Cameo appearances often come with catches — this video certainly isn’t any different. The video clip features a discrete plug for Peter Jackson’s final film called The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, which is due to be released in December.

The first of Air New Zealand’s Hobbit themed films, which was launched around 12 months ago has now netted some 12-million views on YouTube!
