This evening from 8PM it’s on for young and old at the Tigerair website.
Tiger Airways is set to offer airfares from $13 this evening for four hours from 8PM – 12AM. The sale fares cover nine domestic routes, including Adelaide to Sydney, Adelaide to Melbourne, Sydney to the Whitsundays, Brisbane to Cairns and Sydney to the Gold Coast.
While they are cheap airfares, there is a catch. The fares are only valid for travel in three weeks during June, 2015.
You may recall a similar sale by Tigerair last year that saw fares from $10 crash their website. Tigerair Australia Head of Communications, Vanessa Regan has assured us that their website is built robust is will not crash again this year.
Australian airline JetStar had similar issues last week when they attempted to offer airfares to Bali from $88. Consumers were frustrated when the website crashed and the call centre jammed.
This comes on the back of Air Asia X, who introduced cheap airfares to Bali from $99 earlier in the week.
Either way, consumers are getting the best deal out of the airfare war. Just remember to plan ahead and read the fine print. Budget airlines catch out thousands of travellers each year.
