BSP becomes a major sponsor for the South Pacific Tourism Exchange 2016

A regional event organised by the South Pacific Tourism Exchange (SPTE) will be held in the Gold Coast, Australia, next month. BSP has made an agreement with the SPTE to become the major sponsor for the event.

According to a press release from the South Pacific Tourism Organisation (SPTO), it has partnered with BSP in a three-year sponsorship. The main target of this joint venture will be to ensure fulfilling the needs of 160 tourism operators from the South Pacific Tourism Organisation’s 16 member states. It will also give service to tourism wholesale agents and buyers from all across the world.

The 3rd annual SPTE will be held for two days, from May 20 to May 21. The country’s iconic Sea World Resort Convention Centre is the place where the event will be organised.

Ilisoni Vuidreketi, the Chief Executive of SPTO, expressed delight over the partnership between SPTO and BSP. He said that the partnership would help creating a strong international presence of all the tourist operators from their member states.

Mr Vuidreketi saw this partnership as a bridge to create a connection between the local tourism operators and international travel agents, tourism wholesalers, and tourism buyers. He considered it as a good opportunity to display the gems of South Pacific to the rest of the world.

Kevin McCarthy, the Country Manager Fiji of BSP, said that they are proud of being a part of SPTO’s mission of developing the tourism market in the region. He continued saying that the partnership would contribute to the GDP and national growth by improving the local island economies.
