Etihad Airways launches iPhone app to enhance guests’ flying experience


Etihad Airways has always been committed to giving its customers the best experience possible, both on the ground and on board. The airline has recently launched a mobile application to enable guests organising and managing their journey with greater ease.

Available only to iPhone users, the app will let the guests to book and manage their flights. If anyone books flights through the app before 30 May 2016, the airline will reward them with 10% off flights and the loyalty program members with 250 bonus miles for each booking.

The new app is a part of Etihad’s Digital Guest Innovation strategy that works for providing guests the best flying experience through innovative technology. The app is simple to operate and let the guests to book their flights, give check-in, and check their flight’s status. The passengers can also view a comprehensive layout of their chosen seat and the entire cabin as the app features high-resolution seat maps.

The Etihad customers will now be able to use indoor maps to navigate their way around Abu Dhabi International Airport. The airline has brought this service, which is a first in the Middle East, by collaborating with Abu Dhabi Airports Company.

The Chief Commercial Officer of Etihad Airways, Peter Baumgartner, said that they have always tried providing the best experience to their guests and the latest app is another addition to that endeavour.

The great thing about this new app is that it will allow the passengers to give check-in and pay for the tickets by simply scanning their passport page and credit card, respectively. Guests will also be able to view and download their boarding passes, compare various fare choices, and check all the trips they have taken or a going to take with the airline. If any guest signs up for the Etihad Guest reward program, the app will automatically synchronise with that account.
