THAI joins the new air travel services panel of Australian Government

The New Air Travel Services Panel of the Australian Government has been announced Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) as one of the new members.

The Minister for Finance gave the announcement on April 29, 2016, where 18 airlines had been included as the members of the panel. The new panel will cover air travel requirements for the upcoming 5 years.

According to a press release from Thai Airways International, this was the second successive time for THAI to be included in the airline travel services panel of the Australian Government. The airline currently operates in four major Australian cities – Sydney, Perth, Melbourne, and Brisbane. Total 39 flights fly each week to Thailand and then to more than 70 destinations across major cities in Europe, North Asia, South Asia, the Indian Sub-continent, and Indo-china.

The premium customers of Thai Airways can enjoy the exclusive access to Royal Orchid Spa lounge and a number of lounge facilities at Suvarnabhumi Airport, Bangkok.

The Australian Finance Minister said that the new panel is likely to cut travel expenditure by reducing or removing fees, increasing luggage allowances, and introducing flexible fares. According to the release from the Minister, the new panel will introduce flexible fare options beneficial for government travellers, a simplified version of contract management, competitive route deal fares, lowest fare on domestic travel policy, and many more.
