Delta Air Lines has decided to extend its partnership with The Walshe Group (TWG) and appointed it as the company’s general sales agent (GSA) for the Australian market.
TWG has been working for Delta in New Zealand for more than 30 years. It will start its operations in the Australian market from May 23.
TWG has already been widely acquainted with the services, products, and network of Delta. So, their new role in Australia as Delta’s representative is going to benefit both customers and partners in the region.
Sydney will be the centre of the GSA representative office of Delta where the company will handle various work including reservations, sales, ticketing, and other marketing activities. However, additional GSA staff will be stationed in Brisbane and Melbourne too, thereby spreading business in the all three biggest Australian markets. On the other hand, the New Zealand team of TWG will continue their operations from Auckland.

Previously, Global Aviation Services was Delta’s GSA in Australia. Those staff will still work for Delta by being transitioned to the new company, where applicable.
Delta’s Country Manager in Australia and New Zealand, Clare Wheatley, said that the new partnership would further promote Delta as a brand in the related markets. The Walshe Group Managing Director, Jacqui Walshe, said that they are happy to become Delta’s GSA in Australia and are looking forward to facing the exciting challenge.
Delta operates a daily flight between Sydney International Airport and Los Angeles International Airport. The airline also provides exclusive connective service to its guests flying between Australia and the U.S. through a partnership with Virgin Australia.
