Captain Cook announces exciting 7-night cruise on Murray River

People who can’t get enough of the Murray River will be delighted to know that Captain Cook Cruises has announced a package of seven-night Upper Murraylands Cruise.

The new itinerary of the Australian cruise operator will be launched on the paddlewheeler, PS Murray Princess. It will depart once in a month starting from Friday, April 21, 2016.

The seven-night tour features a diverse itinerary that travels around the northern part of the Murray River, covering the track from Mannum to Morgan and then finally returning to Mannum.

SeaLink South Australia’s General Manager, Donna Gauci, sounded excited for being able to offer a new and thrilling itinerary to their guests. Expecting the new one to be as popular as their regular gigs, she informed that the monthly cruise would take the guests to explore the country’s outback history, featuring fascinating guided walks in some historic towns such as Swan Reach, Morgan, and Waikerie and visits to historic museums.

Animal lovers and birdwatchers will have plenty of chances to spot their favourite animals on the riverbanks. Plus, they will take to a visit to a Woolshed Shearing Show and a Native Wildlife Shelter. The history buffs can get themselves educated about Aboriginal history at a significant archaeological site – the Ngaut Ngaut Aboriginal Reserve.

Well, a cruise trip on Murray River would remain incomplete without a wine event. So, the itinerary includes a cellar door tastings and vineyard tour at Burk Salter Boutique Winery. The guests will also be entertained with lunch and wine tastings at Banrock Station Wine and Wetland Centre.
