The travel agents and tour operators of Vanuatu have voiced their support for the South Pacific Tourism Exchange (SPTE) 2017. The SPTE is an annual event that serves as a meeting hub between regional tourism products and suppliers from the South Pacific and their international travel partners.
Since 2014, the South Pacific Tourism Organisation (SPTO) has been arranging this event, providing a cost-effective communication channel between the South Pacific sellers and international buyers.
The tourism operators in Vanuatu voiced their support for the SPTE. A sales and marketing representative from Atmosphere Travel, Alfred Kalotiti, praised the SPTE as a good platform for communicating with other Pacific islands operators. He made this comment during Tok Tok Vanuatu 2016 held from August 23-26. Organised by the Vanuatu Tourism Office (VTO), Tok Tok Vanuatu is the biggest tourism and trade expo held in Vanuatu each year.

Other attendees also echoed his sentiments and confirmed their presence at the SPTE next year. One of the goals of SPTO is to provide the Pacific tourism operators with support and various facilities. It hosted a morning tea event at this year’s Tok Tok Vanuatu and explained its mission and role in developing the tourism of South Pacific region.
This year’s Tok Tok Vanuatu was able to make a substantial presence in mainstream media and on social media channels. More than 60 local Vanuatu tourism operators and 46 overseas travel agents attended the event this year. Chris Cocker, the Chief Executive of SPTO, congratulated the organisers for hosting another successful event this year.
