A recent report which exposes a dip in the Aussie dollar has actually strengthened Australia’s tourism industry.

In fact, the Australia Bureau of Statistics points toward an increase of 5.7% more travellers who took advantage of short term visits in April 2012, in contrast to last year, around the same time.

Numbers in short term visits even grew, with 508,000 entrances to the country for the month of April 2012, which was up over entrances from March 2012.

The Australia Bureau of Statistics suggest, short term vacations taken by residents of Australia were up 5.6% in April 2012, relative to this same time last year, as nearly 674,000 Australians embarked upon brief trips outside of the country, which was up 0.7% from March 2012.
