Event Hospitality & Entertainment Ltd has owned the management rights to the Reef Resort Port Douglas. Australia’s leading entertainment, hospitality, and leisure company currently owns the management rights to a string of hotels across the United Kingdom, New Zealand, and Australia.
The announcement about the new management rights came on Thursday, October 21.The resort will be rebranded to Reef Resort Port Douglas by Rydges from November 1, 2016.
Set amid 15 acres of lush tropical gardens, the resort features total 98 rooms including one, two and, three bedroom villas. It offers all the luxurious facilities of typical resort life along with self-catered service. The villas offer plenty of room for relaxing and privacy. Each villa has spacious interiors, a balcony, dining area, lounge, kitchen, and a separate laundry.

The resort also has a restaurant and bar. Guests can also enjoy barbecue facilities alongside two lagoon-style swimming pools.
The guests will also get to enjoy some signature facilities by Rydges including free Wi-Fi and a new ‘Rise Breakfast’ concept. The buffet-style breakfast offers fresh juice and smoothies, fresh fruits, healthy cereals, and a number of hot options. The mini-bar will serve sweets, nibbles, potato crisps.
Rydges Hotels & Resorts’ General Manager, Norman Arundel, said that their company is well acquainted with managing hotels in Far North Queensland. They currently operate four hotels from Rydges and QT brand in the region. Mr Arundel hoped that adding another one to their inventory would mutually benefit the resort as well as their Priority Guest Rewards (PGR) members.
