Explore South Coast’s beautiful beaches with Shoalhaven 100 Beach Challenge


You might be well aware of all the famous beaches – Seven Mile, Mollymook, and Hyams. Have you ever heard of the Shoalhaven 100 Beach Challenge? The city in New South Wales has 100 beaches, which are just two hours from Sydney and Canberra. Just find a suitable day and then escape the city to explore the region by checking off the beaches.

The Shoalhaven 100 Beach Challenge presents a fantastic opportunity to explore most of the South Coast’s 170km coastline. The Shoalhaven Tourism even divides the beaches into ten categories such as adventure, photographers, pets, families, etc. So, it has something for everyone. Whether you love to take snaps, want to have an adrenaline rush with surfing, or are more interested in spending a quality time with your furry friends, you can enjoy the challenge the way you want.

Participating in the challenge is easy. If you are an old-school adventurer, download the 100 Beach Challenge map at www.shoalhaven.com/guide or get a copy in the 2017 Shoalhaven Tourism Visitor Guide. On the other hand, if you are a social media savvy, you can take part in the challenge by creating an account at the 100 Beach Challenge website. Log into the account when you are heading towards your selected destination. It will activate your device’s camera when you are 500 meters away so that you can take a snap and post it to your social media accounts with the hashtag #100beachchallenge.

The website also has a Leaderboard section. It keeps a log of the top scorer and shows your position on the way of reaching the top position.

Coralie Bell, the Shoalhaven Tourism Manager, said that they wanted to make it easy for people to visit the amazing beach spots in the region. According to her, the simplicity of the challenge has already received tremendous responses from enthusiastic travellers.
