The co-founder of Chimu Adventures, Chad Carey, said that LATAM’s non-stop service was to carry a record number of visitors from Australia to South America. According to him, it would not only increase the accessibility of Aussie tourists to South America and Chile in particular but also relieve the passengers with a competitive airfare.

The direct flight will cut more than four hours flying time from Melbourne to Santiago. According to Mr Carey, the travellers can use this extra time for a half-day Santiago tour.
