The Australian holidaymakers have found a new hot spot, and it’s just a two-hour flight from the capital of Queensland, Brisbane. It’s not only a wallet-friendly place for the Aussies but one of the most beautiful destinations in the country that has been touted as almost similar to Bora Bora, Bali, and even Paris!

The Flight Centre, Australia’s largest retail travel outlet, has published a report that shows New Caledonia as the top emerging destination among their local customers. The number of bookings to the island territory increased by 42% last year.

Other emerging spots mentioned in the inaugural Turner Report are Japan, Vanuatu, and Uluru. These places have experienced an 18%, 17%, and 12% booking growth, respectively. Graham Turner, the CEO of Flight Centre, said at the launching ceremony of the report that Australian tourism had undergone a significant progress in the past decade. Pointing toward the better travel deals and the availability of cheaper flights, Mr Turner had identified the present time as the ‘Golden Age of Travel’ in Australia.

The popularity of New Caledonia increased more after fares to one of its destinations had been dropped the launching of new cruise options. In fact, Cheapflights also named it last month as one of the ten most affordable countries for the Aussie travellers. Last year, Expedia, an American travel company, also picked it as one of the most budget-friendly alternatives to Indonesia’s Bali.
