In collaboration with Dutch chef Henk Savelberg, Soneva is going to host a culinary event this October. Six Michelin-starred chefs will show their cookery skills and share their insights about food and gastronomy.
The event will take place in Soneva Jani and Soneva Fushi, Soneva’s two luxury resorts in Maldives.
Those six chefs are André van Alten (Restaurant La Provence), Edwin Vinke (Restaurant De Kromme Watergang), John Alexander Jarno Eggen (De Groene Lantaarn), Wilco Berends (De Nederlanden), Andre Van Doorn (Restaurant Kasteel Heemstede), and Jos Grootscholten (Old Town Hall, Capelle aan den Ijssel).
All the chefs are members of the Les Patrons Cuisiniers, a veteran culinary association based in Rotterdam founded by Chef Savelberg. Another similarity is that they all have come from the Netherlands.
All of these chefs have the experience of working in various reputable establishments through the world. In fact, they have collectively amassed eight Michelin stars!
It will be a three-night event taking place between October 21 and 25, 2017. In the first night, the guests will experience a Michelin takeover at any of the Soneva restaurants in Maldives. There will be an exclusive food journey on October 24 where the guests can taste delectable food from Michelin-starred stalls.
However, the star feature of the event will be the Chef Battle in Soneva Fushi on October 25. Two teams of chefs including three members each will confront each other in a cooking contest.
