The attractions Canberra is offering this spring

Canberra, the capital of Australia, is a wonderful place to enjoy your spring getaway. It has everything whether you want to explore the outdoor activities, watch sporting events, or just enjoy the warm weather with hot chocolates.

Sports Events

If you want to catch up with some fast action, watching the matches of the Rugby League World Cup could be the best choice. Canberra will host three games – France vs. Lebanon in Round One on October 29, Australia vs. France in Round Two on November 3, and Fiji Bati vs. Italy on November 10.

The World Cup action will be complemented by other sporting events such as the Rugby Championship match between the Wallabies and Argentina on September 16. It will be the first time since 2010 for the Wallabies to play in Canberra. The tickets are currently on sale at Ticketek. If rugby does not suit your taste, enjoy the match between the Australian Diamonds and the South African Proteas in Netball Quad Series on August 30.

Running Competitions

For those who want to be at the centre of the action instead of being a watcher, Wanderlust 108 and Canberra Times Fun Run are the two significant events.

The first one is a kind of ‘mindfulness triathlon’ where running will be combined with two other mindful activities – yoga and meditation. You will surely enjoy getting the chance of spending some peaceful time against the spectacular background of Lake Burley Griffin. It will return to Canberra on October 21 in Patrick White Lawns.
