With a brand new look and character, Margaret River Region Open Studios is returning for the fifth time in April 2018. The largest open art studios event in Australia will run on from April 28 to May 13.
This year’s event is going to be the biggest ever as more than 130 artists have confirmed their participation. Visitors will get to enjoy behind-the-scenes experiences as artists will welcome them to their studios.
Jim Davies, the Chairman of the event, said that the interactive concept of open studios is highly suitable for the creative people. He expressed his excitement over hosting so many talented artists and hoped a steady growth of the event so that it becomes helpful in creating a discernible brand.
The art event this year is filled with such a diverse array of artistic talents spanning from Busselton to Augusta that visitors will get plenty of choices pick their artists. They can also select the days, locations, and even the art style and medium they like.
Many talented local artists will join the event this year including Mary Lynne Stratton, Leon Pericles, Jo Broadhurst, famous landscape artist Douglas Kirsop, Rebecca Cool, and more. The visitors will have access to a map outlining the studios, exhibition space, and workshops of all the participating artists so that people can plan their visits to their convenience.
Margaret River Region Open Studios is the most accessible event in the south west of WA because it is absolutely free and you don’t have to make any booking in advance. It is also unique in the sense that art lovers get to see a glimpse of the life that artists live and places they work.
