The densely-populated island in southeastern New York State boasts of 120-mile of beaches, rich farmland, and high-quality events from around the world.
The Winterfest is currently underway, starting on February 22 and ending on March 18. The annual event is in its eleventh year. Taking place on the island’s East End, the festival offers live music, crafted brew tasting, wine tours, and more for the entertainment of the visitors.
Art lovers should be looking forward to the annual THAW Festival. Going to be held for the first time from March 23-25, the event will entertain the visitors with exhibitions, workshops, film screenings, and performances across Hampton. The Hamptons Art Network – an alliance of nineteen cultural attractions, is the host of the festival.
If you are a horseracing fan, clear your schedules for June 7-9 because the Belmont Stakes is ready with its jockeys and horses. The world-class event will turn 150 this year, so there will be some special events to celebrate the exciting sport on the beautiful Belmont track.
Long Island will also organise the 118th U.S. Open Championship from June 11-17. The Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in the town of Southampton will host the golf tournament. The links-style golf club hosted this event four times before.
