The Langham Sydney opens its doors — Australia’s newest 5 star hotel

The Langham Sydney has opened its doors after undergoing redevelopment in 2014, making it Australia’s newest exclusive five star hotel.

The Hong Kong based Langham Hospitality Group’s operates The Langham hotel in Sydney, along with twelve other Langham hotels around the world, including London, Hong Kong, North America, Indonesia and China. Australia’s other Langham location is in Melbourne’s trendy Southbank, alongside the city’s tallest building.

Originally The Observatory Hotel, The Langham Sydney came to fruition after being purchased in 2012 from Orient Express. the Langham Hospitality Group signalled its intentions to revamp the hotel in 2014, taking just four months from start to finish.

“The process has been extraordinary and we are thrilled to officially present the results of this iconic redevelopment for Sydney” commented General Manager, Sonia Lefevre.

Featuring a total of 98 rooms and suites, The Langham Sydney caters for both leisure and business travellers. The Grand Langham room is the biggest standard room in Sydney, while there are also two and three bedroom Residence Suites available for this so inclined, which include private chef’s kitchenettes.

Those fond of fine art will love hand curated works by Sotheby’s, which feature works from Australian artists such as Sidney Nolan, Albert Tucker, Andrew Browne and Brett Whitley.
