Peppers Noosa Resort & Villas and Rosie Batty teams up against domestic violence

Peppers Noosa Resort & Villas has collaborated with Rosie Batty, the family violence campaigner and the Australian of the Year 2015, for a lunch event. Batty will be the guest speaker at the event ‘Lunch with Rosie Batty’ slated to be held next month.

The event will take place on Friday August 5 from 12.30pm to 3pm at the View Restaurant, the newly refurbished bar and restaurant in the Peppers Noosa line. Guests will be greeted with canapés and a glass of wine on arrival and then a two-course meal with wine. The event will be ended with auction and raffle draws. Tickets are currently available at $85 per person.

Rosie has become a pioneer in Australia in raising voice against domestic violence. She herself suffered some tragic incidents in her life. But, instead of letting them break her down, she turned them into a fight to help others and founded the Luke Batty Foundation – the official charitable partner of Mantra Group. She will share her story of resilience and courage with the guests at the event and thereby casting light on a problem that needs huge and immediate attention.

All the money collected from the event will go into the fund of the Luke Batty Foundation.

Steve McPharlin, the General Manager of Peppers Noosa Resort & Villas, said that Rosie advocates such a social issue that should receive greater support because the problem can affect anyone’s life. He said that their upcoming event is an attempt on their part to bring awareness and support to this issue and they are proud in doing so.

Mantra Group, the largest Australian-based manager and marketer of hotels and resorts, has recently become involved with many initiates to create awareness about various social issues across its Australian hotel network and the upcoming lunch event is one of them.

The company is currently doing fundraising activities and donating $2 per day to the Luke Batty Foundation from every day delegate package sold. It contributed over $17,000 last year to the same organisation.
