SpiceRoads launches a challenging road bike tour in Mae Hong Son Hills

Travellers who like to take road bike tours must be happy to know that SpiceRoads Cycle Tours add a new tour to their itinerary where they will get the chance to explore Northern Thailand’s famous Mae Hong Son Loop with a road bike.

The 9-day and 8-night tour called ‘Mae Hong Son Hills’ will give the cyclists a challenging riding experience. However, riders will also get to enjoy the breathtaking surrounding views and plenty of off-bike experiences. In a word, it will be a rewarding trip even for a serious road biker.

The new trip is a shorter version of the tougher, longer 13-day and 12-night tour ‘Conquer the Lanna Kingdom by Road Bike Tour’, which is still available for enthusiastic bikers.

The newly announced tour will cover a few stunningly winding roads passing through the mountains of Mae Hong Son province. The bikers will cross some of the toughest and highest peaks of Thailand. However, all the roads are in good condition.

The new tour is specifically designed for those travellers who have previous road cycling experience and a high level of fitness. It includes challenging rides, climbs, and descents, so not exactly suitable for leisure travellers or newbie road bikers.

The riders are expected to cross a distance of 678 kilometres including 7 full days of cycling between 66 and 128 km per day. It also includes a total of 14,121 metres of climbing. SpiceRoads will launch the tour two times this year – on October 2 and December 18 – and four times next year.
