The Destination NSW extends its support for the Riverina Tourism. The tourism and major events agency of the State is promoting the Riverina to the visitors.
The Riverina is an agriculture region located in the southwestern part of the New South Wales. The area has to offer many touristic attractions including fantastic food and wine, thrilling festivals, special events, and heritage locations.
Despite the damage caused by the recent floods, the region is still open for business. Sandra Chipchase, the Chief Executive Officer of Destination NSW, said that they believe it’s important to encourage visitors and send them the message that the floods could not diminish the beauty and diversity of the area.

Destination NSW has always promoted local tourism in the NSW. Currently, it is working with the Riverina Regional Tourism to make the region more popular to the potential visitors. The agency will support a media familiarisation, Taste Riverina, this weekend in order to give the food and travel media a first-hand experience about the region’s wine and food culture.
Ms Chipchase said that they had also secured the Weekend Sunrise program of Channel Seven for Riverina Regional Tourism. The program will broadcast live and promote the region along with the Taste Riverina program to a huge number of national audiences.

In fact, the promotional work has been going on during the last few months. The township of Leeton has been featured on Sydney Weekender and Sunrise breakfast television. Destination NSW also promoted the region in its digital campaign It’s ON by featuring Taste Riverina, Australian Ballet Giselle, and Evocities MTB cycle race.
Ms Chipchase also revealed the way their organisation has planned to promote and other rural events in Australia in the future.
